Part of the fun of getting up in the morning is picking out what to wear for the rest of the day.  Although it may be a terrifying thought to let your kids to coordinate their own outfits, it will help them build confidence in their personal style and help you reduce the stress of getting them ready for school in the mornings. Just keep their wardrobes stocked with a good selection of basics that include comfy tops and bottoms so you won’t have to worry about any crazy getups!

Cooking dinner for your family every night can be such a headache, especially if one of your kids wants lasagna and the other will only eat pasta with melted butter (go figure). And let’s not mention the fact that you’re trying to squeeze in those veggies for their 5 servings a day and include all the food groups. Making sure that a meal is ‘well balanced’ can be hard work, but cooking it doesn’t have to be.  Little helping hands can be surprisingly useful in the kitchen arena just as long as you give them easy tasks like mixing, pouring, stirring, and washing.  And when your kids are involved in cooking the food, they are more likely to like it!

4. Avoid shopping altogether and CRAFT your present!
5. Shop alone! Less distractions make for better and faster purchase decisions.
6. Keep all your receipts from gift shopping together so that it’s easier to find the receipt to return Grandma Sue’s gravy boat when you find out she already has the same one.
